Bring merry to your Christmas table with this beautiful festive Chocolate Swiss Roll Yule Log cake The interesting history behind the Yule Log 🎄Yule Log has a fascinating history dating back to Medieval times.  Long back, the custom was, the head of the family would cut a tree and clear of all branches and bring them into the house before Christmas.  Thereafter, one side of it would be placed in the fire hearth while the rest of the log would be lying dominating the entire space in the living room. The log would be then lit up and slowly fed into the fire through the “twelve days of Christmas” bringing such a cosy warmth and festive spirit to the family. Enjoy making this cake and spread joy among the family and friends during this festive time! Step by step recipe is given and nothing could possibly go wrong in the process. Beetroot Rice - A Colourful And Healthy Rice Dish for the weekend

Image
Serve this pretty dome of flavourful Beetroot rice to any kid with fussy eating habits and witness how delightfully he/she will polish the plate off in minutes!  Make a cheerful food art blending several other colours and kids will go crazy! This is definitely a very clever way to include beetroot into your kid’s diet.  The vibrant glossy red colour, the natural sweetness of the beetroot and the most uncomplicated way of making it preserve all the goodness, flavours and colour in the dish. What is special in this recipe is that it tastes simply the best on its own without any accompaniment.  However, I add a sliced boiled egg and scatter some poppadums when I serve it for older kids.  For little ones, just serve as uncomplicated as it is! Gather the following ingredients: Cooked Rice 1 Beetroot 1 large or 2 Onion 1 Garlic 3 cloves Olive oil or any kind of oil 1 tbsp Butter 1/2 tbsp Curry Leaves (optional)   Salt and Pepper powder   Let’s make : G...

This glorious rice dish belongs to the traditional Indonesian cuisine which has now been embraced by other countries in the region has become a culinary star in its own right! This is just ONE POT dish with multiple flavours and tastes which is the main reason for it to gain such huge popularity! Indonesian mothers who used to serve this dish as breakfast by tossing some vegetables and meat with the leftover cold rice from the previous night’s dinner must have never believed that their simple, hurriedly rustled up dish would become one of the most sorted in the whole of South-East Asia, South Asia and beyond! It’s indeed, a very clever way to give the leftover rice a scrumptiously flavourful finishing. So, keeping the tradition, even now it is made with pre-cooked cold rice. Adding prawns to this dish proves to be a perfect culinary ingenuity, as seafood and rice just go so well together. Yet, the secret of the addictive delicious taste and the tempting colour stems fro...

These sweet little crunchy biscuits are called “Linguas de veado” in Portuguese.   Quite interestingly, when translated into English it means; “Butter cookies in the shape of a large tongue”.  However, I made them round in shape so that they are easier to pop into the mouth and crunch away in seconds! Super easy to make and they all will vanish in a jiffy. What you need: Egg whites  3 Icing sugar  120 g Margarine or butter (melted)  120 g Plain flour  120 g Salt  3 pinches Vanilla 1 tsp Let’s make: Set the Oven to 160 C Cream the batter Clean wipe a wide bowl perfectly dry to beat the egg whites Pour the egg whites and beat until frothy.  This will take  2- 3 mins In a seperate bowl beat butter and icing sugar until creamy Now add the butter and sugar cream to the egg whites Add Plain flour Add salt and vanilla Give a good stir and bring all together using a wooden spoon or a spatula Pipe onto the t...

Banana And Walnut Cake - Better Than what Starbucks' offers

Image
The intoxicating scent and sweetness of bananas and the crunchiness of walnuts make this cake the ultimate best you can ever dream of a tea-time cake! In the process of trying to produce something similar to Starbucks’ banana and walnut cake, I ended up creating something far better and simply irresistible.  Adding a generous amount of lemon juice did the miracle of incorporating the tastes of all the ingredients included. Also, drizzling a spoonful of golden syrup out of impulse brought wonders to the flavours! No need of describing the taste and flavours, please do make this gorgeous cake and let me know whether it won over the Starbucks’ version. Over-riped bananas with black patches on the skin are the best for this cake. They are high in flavour and moisture, which in turn gives a delicious scent and taste to this cake. Over-riped bananas – best for banana cake Necessary ingredients:  Over- riped bananas  2 large  Soft brown sugar  170 ...
